Indiana men's basketball has secured a significant boost to its roster for the 2025-26 season, landing a commitment from Alabama transfer forward Aiden Sherrell. This marks the Hoosiers' fifth transfer portal addition this offseason and a major upgrade for their frontcourt.
Sherrell, a rising junior originally from Detroit, arrives with a strong pedigree. He was a 5-star prospect in the 2024 class, ranked as the nation's fifth-best center. After a bench role as a freshman, he broke out this past season, starting all 32 games for the Crimson Tide and averaging 11.1 points and 6.2 rebounds while showcasing an improving outside shot.
For Head Coach Darian DeVries, adding a player of Sherrell's caliber addresses a key area of need. Standing at 6'11", his versatility and experience in the tough SEC will be invaluable. While he provides immediate size, his skill set may see him slot in at power forward as Indiana continues to build its new-look lineup for the upcoming campaign.
