The Los Angeles Rams made the shocker of the draft, selecting Ty Simpson at No. 13 overall in the first round of the NFL Draft.
Then, as Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated reports, the Rams made another unexpected pick with their 61st overall selection in the second-round, taking another tight end in Max Klare.
After the Klare pick, what does the Rams' depth chart at tight end look like? It's a ridiculously deep room that is getting even deeper with the Klare addition.

Entering the 2026 NFL Draft, the Rams' depth chart at tight end featured Colby Parkinson, Tyler Higbee, 2025 draft pick Terrance Ferguson, and Davis Allen.
That's a very deep room already for the Rams, and now, it's adding another player in Max Klare with a premium pick in the second-round.
The 22-year-old tight end is 6-foot-5, 243 pounds, and is coming out of Ohio State as a Junior. He's a decent blocker and also a solid receiving threat.

Last year, he caught 43 passes for 448 yards and two touchdowns. Klare was a bit buried on the depth chart at Ohio State, but there's some optimism for the NFL.
However, he's once again going to be buried on the depth chart, as he might be the Rams' fifth tight end behind Ferguson, Parkinson, Higbee, and Allen.
The Rams draft has been a bit of an odd one so far, with Simpson in Round 1 and now another tight end in Round 2. Les Snead and Sean McVay can be trusted, but that doesn't change the strange nature of these selections.
