It took a while for the second tight end to go off the board in the 2026 NFL Draft.
But there at the No. 54 overall pick, midway through the second round, the Philadelphia Eagles took TE Eli Stowers out of Vanderbilt.
The former high school quarterback became a trusted target for Diego Pavia.
In 2025, Stowers had 62 catches for 769 yards and four touchdowns.

Stowers isn't much of a blocker at this stage of his career, so he can be on the field with Goedert in two different roles.
The Eagles are building a passing game for the future, having already drafted WR Makai Lemon on Thursday night.

Stowers is key after this year. Goedert returned to Philly on a one-year contract, but he could be gone after this season.
Eventually, Stowers probably takes the reins as TE1 for the Eagles.
