Well after this one and until hopefully at least December of this year in order to find the Arizona Cardinals competitive in year one under Mike LaFleur and company.

James Dator of SB Nation dropped his “Way-Too-Early” 2027 NFL Mock Draft and before I reveal a couple of things, a couple of notes from me.

The Arizona Cardinals do not pick first overall – Sure they are picking in the top five again, but not first overall, which is nice.

The 2026 big free agent quarterback signing leads to the Dolphins getting the first pick.

According to our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook Arch Manning is +150 to go first overall in the 2027 NFL Draft. Dante Moore is next at +550 and a new name has emerged, Jeremiyah Love’s teammate C.J. Carr is +600.

For the Arizona Cardinals, if they are drafting this high again, you have to assume the quarterback situation is still a mess.

So, let’s take a look at how they fix that, I will give you Dator’s top five picks, from there make sure you check out the rest of his 2027 NFL Mock Draft.

Some notes on Sayin from diehard Buckeyes fan, draft analyst, one of my best friends, Justin Higdon:

Undersized but adequate arm strength with excellent ball placement. Underutilized athleticism. Expect to see more QB runs this year. Like Mayfield, etc. will need to move the pocket to see the whole field. Didn’t use the MOF as much as you’d like to see last year, struggled under pressure against Miami last year but improved in the 2nd half.

Sayin is listed at 6-1 208lbs, threw for 3,610 yards and 32 touchdowns to only eight interceptions for the Buckeyes last year. Now, can he show enough to be a top five pick and a franchise quarterback in the NFL?

Much appreciation to Dator and Higdon for their thoughts.
