Helena Rowland is set to reach a major milestone this weekend, earning her 50th cap for the Red Roses as they take on Italy in Parma. The versatile back, who has started in every backline position except scrum half since her debut in October 2020, has been a key figure in England's Women's Six Nations campaign. This tournament, she's anchored the inside centre role in the absence of Tatyana Heard, showcasing her adaptability and class.

But the big story isn't just about Rowland—it's also about a fresh face making her mark. Head coach John Mitchell has handed a debut to Brisbane-born back row Haidee Head, who joins the squad off the bench. The 21-year-old, who qualifies for England through her mother, has impressed since moving from the Queensland Reds to Trailfinders. She'll provide flanker cover, adding depth to a pack that's been hit by injuries.

Speaking of injuries, veteran No. 8 Alex Matthews has been officially ruled out of the tournament with a shoulder injury, while Sadia Kabeya and Lilli Ives Campion are also unavailable as they rehab with an eye on next weekend's clash against France. It's a blow, but it's also opened the door for others to step up.

Mitchell has also refreshed the back three, with Emma Sing and Mia Venner returning to the starting lineup, and Ellie Kildunne shifting to the wing. That's a potent attacking unit, and they'll need to be sharp against an Italy side riding high after a statement 41-14 win over Scotland in round three.

England have been flawless so far, beating Ireland, Scotland, and Wales, but Mitchell knows this is a different challenge. "This week is about re-establishing our processes and sharpening our focus now that we have new purpose," he said. "We've had a deliberate reset around learning where we will need to improve. Italy will be full of confidence, and they'll challenge us in different ways."

England XV to face Italy in Parma (Saturday, 2pm BST): Kelsey Clifford, Amy Cokayne, Maud Muir; Abi Burton, Delaney Burns; Demelza Short, Marlie Packer, Maddie Feaunati; Lucy Packer, Zoe Harrison; Ellie Kildunne, Helena Rowland, Meg Jones, Mia Venner; Emma Sing.
