The Oregon Ducks are making serious moves this offseason, and the latest addition to their roster is a former top recruit who could make an immediate impact. Forward Dwayne Aristode, a transfer from Arizona, announced his commitment to head coach Dana Altman's program on Thursday via Instagram, adding another versatile piece to an already evolving lineup.
At 6-foot-8 and 220 pounds, Aristode brings a blend of size and skill that fits perfectly into modern basketball. While his stats last season—3.8 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game—may not jump off the page, context matters. He played a reserve role for a Wildcats team that made a deep run to the Final Four, appearing in 35 games off the bench and shooting an efficient 49% from the field. More impressively, he knocked down 46.2% of his three-point attempts, including a six-triple performance against Northern Arizona in November.
What makes Aristode such an intriguing get for the Ducks is his positional flexibility. He can slide between power forward and shooting guard depending on lineup needs, giving Altman plenty of options on both ends of the floor. After adding size underneath with Alabama transfer Taylor Bol Bowen and San Diego State transfer Pharaoh Compton, the Ducks needed a wing who could stretch the floor and defend multiple positions. Aristode checks both boxes.
A former top-30 recruit in the 2025 class—ranked No. 29 overall by 247 Sports and the top prospect out of the Netherlands—Aristode arrives in Eugene with a pedigree that suggests he's ready for a bigger role. He'll join a wing group that includes Andrew Meadow, Tyrone Riley IV, and incoming freshman Tajh Ariza, and his experience in a high-major system should help him contribute right away.
The Ducks have been busy on the transfer trail, landing Boston College guard Fred Payne just a day before Aristode's announcement. With Altman continuing to reshape the roster, Oregon fans have plenty of reasons to be excited about the depth and versatility this team is building for the upcoming season.
