The Oklahoma State Cowgirls just landed a major playmaker. Florida transfer guard Liv McGill, one of the most dynamic scorers in the SEC, has committed to join head coach Jacie Hoyt's program in Stillwater.
McGill is coming off a spectacular sophomore season where she averaged a staggering 22.5 points, 6.3 assists, 6.1 rebounds, and 2.6 steals per game for the Gators. Her all-around dominance earned her a spot on the All-SEC First Team and national All-America Honorable Mention honors.
A 5'9" guard from Minneapolis, McGill has been a model of consistency and production from day one. Over her two seasons at Florida, she started all 71 games, amassing over 1,300 points, 387 assists, and 156 steals. Her decision to enter the transfer portal followed the departure of the coach who recruited her, Kelly Rae Finley.
Now, she brings her elite talent to a thriving Oklahoma State program. Under Coach Hoyt, the Cowgirls have become a consistent NCAA Tournament team, boasting a 49-17 record over the past two seasons. McGill is poised to be the centerpiece of their transfer class and a key catalyst for another deep postseason run.
Her pedigree is undeniable. Coming out of high school as a McDonald's All-American and a five-star recruit, McGill's transition to college stardom was swift. Her scoring prowess, playmaking, and defensive intensity will instantly elevate Oklahoma State's backcourt, making them a team to watch closely next season.
