The NFL does not expect the Jets, Cardinals, Titans, Dolphins or Raiders to be any good this season.

Five NFL teams will be spending their season in the shadows, as the league has confirmed they won't receive a single primetime game in 2026. The New York Jets, Arizona Cardinals, Tennessee Titans, Miami Dolphins, and Las Vegas Raiders have all been shut out of the national spotlight—a clear signal that the NFL doesn't expect much from them this year.

The Dolphins, coming off a 7-10 campaign, raised eyebrows with a major offseason rebuild, trading away key players and stockpiling draft capital. Meanwhile, the Jets, Titans, Raiders, and Cardinals all finished with a dismal 3-14 record last season, making their exclusion from primetime less surprising.

The Raiders' absence from the marquee slots is the most intriguing snub. Las Vegas made headlines by selecting quarterback Fernando Mendoza with the No. 1 overall pick and adding several high-profile free agents. However, with veteran Kirk Cousins expected to start the season under center, there's no guarantee when—or if—Mendoza will take the field. Until then, the Raiders will have to prove they deserve a primetime audience.

For fans of these five teams, it means more Sunday afternoon football and fewer late-night battles. But in a league where respect is earned under the lights, this schedule serves as a clear challenge: play well, and the spotlight will follow.
