The Green Bay Packers added six new players during the 2026 NFL draft -- cornerback Brandon Cisse and defensive tackle Chris McClellan on Day 2 and edge rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton, center Jager Burton, cornerback Domani Jackson and kicker Trey Smack on Day 3.

The Packers didn't have a first-round pick but still managed to address cornerback with a top-100 pick for first time since 2021. Green Bay confidently traded up for McClellan, tried to trade up for Dennis-Sutton before taking him at No. 120 overall and then grabbed depth for the interior offensive line, more numbers at cornerback and a new kicker on Saturday. Any early-round cornerback was going to be an immediate fan favorite in Green Bay, and most were very excited to get Dennis-Sutton in the fourth round.

The staff at Packers Wire picks their favorite pick from the Packers' 2026 draft class:

The value of Dani Dennis-Sutton is certainly intriguing, and it's possible Trey Smack will give the Packers a valuable special teams weapon and long-term answer at kicker. But my favorite pick in the class is also the first pick. Cisse, who finished as a top 45 player in the class for both Dane Brugler and Daniel Jeremiah, is the player with the highest probability of becoming an elite player. While unrefined and requiring development as a 20-year-old, he has all the movement skills necessary to play the cornerback position at the highest level. Plus, he's competitive in every phase and can disrupt the run/screen game, and he improved every season, even with the competition jump from NC State to the SEC. I see a young, ascending and highly athletic player with incredible upside at both a premium position and a position of major need in Green Bay. If Cisse doesn't hit, it won't be because of a physical limitation. The hope is consistency comes. I think it will, maybe as soon as 2027. And when it does, Cisse will be a very good player at a very important position.

I’m going to go with what I thought was the Packers’ biggest steal of the 2026 NFL Draft. Dennis Sutton’s measurables jump off the page and are backed up by outstanding production over his final two years at Penn State. I thought he was a legit Day 2 talent, and Green Bay got him at No. 120 overall. Dennis Sutton already has versatility as a pass rusher and displays tremendous effort against the run. The tools are there for him to contribute early and potentially develop into a starter.

Having one of the upper tier of cornerbacks — Chris Johnson, Colton Hood and Brandon Cisse — fall to the Packers or even near enough to trade up, was the ideal scenario for me entering the draft. I am a believer in Cisse’s talent and would not have been stunned if a team saw enough to make him a first-round pick. Him landing in Green Bay’s lap, even with the Jermod McCoy injury bumping a lot of other cornerbacks up a spot in the pecking order, was a stroke of good fortune. I am pleased Brian Gutekunst did not overthink it and made him a Packer.

The Packers needed to bolster the depth across the offensive line and they checked that box with the selection of Jager Burton in the fifth round. Burton is a Packers type all day long. A high school left tackle, Burton has experience playing both guard spots and center. He is a great athlete and has easy range as a run blocker. He plays with good knee bend in pass protection and gave up zero sacks while playing center this past season. It would not be shocking if he's the team’s starting center when the 2027 season opens. In the meantime, he’ll provide quality depth along the interior as a rookie.
