Falcons UDFA class: What can Minnesota WR Le’Meke Brockington bring to Atlanta?

The Atlanta Falcons kicked off their rookie minicamp this past weekend, giving their 2026 NFL Draft class—and a host of undrafted free agents—their first chance to impress the coaching staff. Among the 14 undrafted signings, three wide receivers are turning heads, and one name to watch is former Minnesota Golden Gophers standout Le’Meke Brockington.

Atlanta’s need at wide receiver was glaring heading into the draft, and the team has even experimented by using undrafted running back Cash Jones at the position. That lack of depth means Brockington and his fellow UDFA wideouts have a realistic shot at cracking the final roster.

Brockington enters the NFL after his best collegiate season in 2025, where he posted 484 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Over 45 games with the Golden Gophers, the 5-foot-11, 195-pound receiver hauled in 80 catches for 1,042 yards. While those numbers might not jump off the page, his versatility and raw athleticism could make him a hidden gem.

One of Brockington’s most intriguing assets is his kick return ability—a trait the Falcons have prioritized in their recent receiver additions. Over four seasons, he averaged an impressive 26.8 yards per kick return. On offense, he may not have elite speed, but he compensates with excellent burst and surprising strength. In fact, Brockington set a school record for wide receivers by squatting over 600 pounds—a testament to his physicality.

“Brockington had a team-leading 46 catches for 484 yards last season, showing he can be a reliable option after years of run blocking and a brief interlude recovering from a fractured leg,” noted Andrew Krammer of the Minnesota Star Tribune. “Brockington reportedly squatted a Gophers program-record 664 pounds for a receiver.”

Whether he’s blocking downfield, making a tough catch over the middle, or flashing his strength after the catch, Brockington brings a unique blend of grit and resilience. For a Falcons squad looking to bolster its receiving corps, he could be the kind of underdog story that sticks around well beyond training camp.
