Big news for Badgers fans and college basketball followers: versatile guard/forward Eian Elmer is taking his talents to Madison. The former Taft High School standout, who spent three impactful seasons with the Miami (OH) RedHawks, has officially committed to the University of Wisconsin via the transfer portal, as announced by the program.

Elmer is coming off a stellar junior campaign where he was a key contributor for a powerhouse Miami squad. Averaging 12.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game, he helped propel the RedHawks to an impressive 32-2 record in the 2025-26 season, showcasing the two-way ability that makes him a coveted transfer.

His season was punctuated by a memorable performance in the NCAA Tournament. During Miami's First Four victory over SMU, Elmer not only dropped 23 points but also eclipsed the 1,000-point milestone for his collegiate career in the first half—a feat made even more special by a pre-game pep talk from none other than actor and WWE legend John Cena.

This move to the Big Ten signals a significant step up in competition for Elmer. Interestingly, his former Miami teammate, Brant Byers, is reportedly headed to Penn State, setting the stage for potential future conference showdowns between the two.

Elmer's commitment is a major pickup for Wisconsin as they look to bolster their roster with proven, high-motor talent. His experience, scoring touch, and rebounding from the wing position will be invaluable assets in one of the nation's toughest conferences.
