The Kent State Golden Flashes have kicked off their transfer portal activity with a significant addition, securing a commitment from former Eastern Michigan forward Godslove Nwabude for the 2026-27 season.
Nwabude, a native of Nigeria, brings two years of Division I experience to the Flashes' frontcourt. In his sophomore campaign with the Eagles, he proved to be a reliable presence, averaging 5.4 points and 5.5 rebounds across 33 games, while showcasing his defensive instincts with 48 blocks and 17 steals.
His potential was on full display in key performances last season, including a career-high 16 points against Central Michigan and a strong double-double of 12 points and 14 rebounds versus NJIT.
Kent State head coach Rob Senderoff expressed clear enthusiasm for the new recruit, stating, "I'm excited to add a player with Godslove's experience and basketball attributes. He has shown improvement over his two years at EMU, and I think he will continue to get better here at Kent State."
This move marks a fresh start for Nwabude, who played at Mt. Zion Prep before his stint at Eastern Michigan, and signals Kent State's intent to bolster their roster for future MAC conference battles.
