Angel Reese is doing something in the WNBA that sounds almost unbelievable—she's out-rebounding entire teams all by herself. And somehow, she's getting even better at it.
The Atlanta Dream star led the league in rebounds per game during her first two seasons, with only A'ja Wilson grabbing more total boards across 2024 and 2025. But those impressive campaigns? They were just the opening act.
Now in 2026, Reese is cleaning the glass at a rate that's rewriting the record books. Through her first two games with the Dream, she has hauled in a combined 30 rebounds—including 17 offensive boards. That's an average of 8.5 offensive rebounds per game.
To put that in perspective: that single-player average is higher than what seven entire WNBA teams have managed so far this season. The Minnesota Lynx, as a team, average 8.0 offensive rebounds per game. The New York Liberty sit at 7.7, the Indiana Fever at 7.0, the Phoenix Mercury at 6.7, the Las Vegas Aces at 6.0, the Portland Fire at 5.5, and the Dallas Wings at 5.0.
Reese is out-rebounding half the league—by herself.
This kind of dominance on the glass is her calling card, but what she's doing now is on another level. As a rookie with the Chicago Sky, she shattered a 23-year-old record by grabbing 172 offensive rebounds. At her current pace, if she plays all 44 games, she'll snag an astonishing 374 offensive boards.
The two-time All-Star followed up her rookie season with 123 offensive rebounds in 2025, joining an elite group of just five players in WNBA history to record at least two seasons with 120-plus offensive boards. Only legends Tina Charles and Yolanda Griffith have managed three such seasons—and Reese is well on track to become the third.
No other team in the league has this kind of weapon. And for the Atlanta Dream, who are off to a 2-0 start after wins over the Lynx and the Wings, it could be the difference-maker in their pursuit of a first-ever WNBA championship this fall.
