Big changes are underway at Peterborough United as the club prepares for a major squad overhaul following a nail-biting League One season that saw them finish just four points above the relegation zone.
Midfielder Archie Collins is the headline departure, leaving after his contract expired. The 26-year-old was a key figure for Posh over three seasons following his move from Exeter City, racking up 50 appearances this campaign and chipping in with three goals. He also played a vital role in their back-to-back EFL Trophy triumphs in 2024 and 2025, cementing his place in club history.
Joining Collins out the door are experienced defenders Tom Lees and Jacob Mendy. Their exits come as no surprise after a turbulent season that saw Peterborough flirt dangerously with relegation, ultimately surviving by the skin of their teeth.
But the squad reshuffle doesn't stop there. Manager Luke Williams has put eight more players on the transfer list as he looks to rebuild for next season. Among them is winger Declan Frith, who arrived from Swiss side FC Thun last summer with high hopes but struggled to make an impact, starting just eight league games despite 28 total appearances.
Also available for transfer are Cian Hayes, George Nevett, Abraham Odoh, and Donay O'Brien-Brady. Hayes, who joined from Rochdale in 2024, had the most involvement of that group, netting three goals in 35 appearances this season.
Three loanees from the 2025-26 campaign—Bradley Ihionvien, Chris Conn-Clarke, and Klaidi Lolos—have also been told they can seek new clubs.
With a revamped squad on the horizon, Peterborough fans will be hoping Williams can find the right mix to push them back up the table next season. For the players moving on, it's a chance to write a new chapter—and perhaps find a new club that needs a fresh start of its own.
