Joao Pedro has been nothing short of spectacular for Chelsea this season, but with Champions League football slipping away from Stamford Bridge, former Blue Shaun Wright-Phillips is urging the Brazilian to pack his bags for Barcelona.

The 22-year-old arrived from Brighton last summer in a deal worth up to £60 million, and he's been one of the few bright spots in an otherwise turbulent campaign. With 20 goals across all competitions—including 15 in the Premier League—Pedro has made the number nine shirt his own, comfortably outperforming struggling teammate Liam Delap. His stunning bicycle kick against Nottingham Forest remains one of the season's standout moments.

It's no surprise that Pedro's form has caught the eye of Europe's elite. Spanish champions Barcelona have emerged as a serious suitor, though Chelsea maintain he's not for sale. But with the Blues facing the very real prospect of no European football at all next season, Wright-Phillips believes the striker should seize the opportunity to leave.

"I believe it would be fantastic for Joao if he were to go," Wright-Phillips told The Standard. "Personally, given the way Chelsea has been run, if I were him, I would do everything to complete this transfer. Playing at Camp Nou, alongside Raphinha and Lamine Yamal, would be great for him. He would score many goals."

The former winger didn't mince words about Chelsea's current predicament. "If I were Joao Pedro, I would want to play in the Champions League, and I can't see Chelsea qualifying for any European competition. Joao has the level and deserves to be playing in the Champions League."

Meanwhile, Newcastle are reportedly exploring a move for Liam Delap, but Chelsea's stance remains firm—the 23-year-old isn't for sale. For now, all eyes are on Joao Pedro and whether he'll heed Wright-Phillips' advice or commit to a Chelsea rebuild that may take years to bear fruit.
