On Saturday night, the Brazil Women's Under-17 National Team once again proved why they are the queens of South American football. With a thrilling 3-2 victory over Argentina at Defensores del Chaco Stadium in Asunción, Paraguay, the squad led by head coach Rilany Silva secured their sixth continental title—an achievement that cements their legacy as the most successful team in the tournament's history.

Throughout the championship, the Canarinha were simply unstoppable. They went unbeaten across six matches, boasting five wins and just one draw. Their attacking flair was on full display, scoring an impressive 21 goals while conceding only six. This dominant performance also earned them a coveted spot in the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, set to take place in Morocco from October to November.

Brazil's journey to glory began with a solid 2-0 win over Venezuela, with goals from Gigi and Mari Gigante. The team then faced a tougher test against Uruguay, but emerged victorious in a 5-3 thriller, thanks to strikes from Helena, Nicolly (who scored twice), Gigi, and Mari Gigante.

The group stage concluded with two emphatic routs. First, Brazil dismantled Peru 5-0, with Marcela netting a hat-trick and Mari Gigante and Nicolly adding to the tally. Then, they swept past Ecuador 4-0, with goals from Gigi, Marcela, Mari Martins, and an own goal.

The semifinal against Chile proved to be the tournament's biggest challenge. After a hard-fought 2-2 draw in regulation time—with Gamonal and Mari Gigante finding the net—Brazil held their nerve in a penalty shootout, winning 5-3. Pepê, Rech, Mari Gigante, Marcela, and Nicolly all converted their spot kicks to send the team to the final.

In the championship match, Brazil faced a determined Argentina side. But the Canarinha showed their championship pedigree, securing a 3-2 victory with goals from Gamonal, Helena, and Nicolly. The win added another chapter to Brazil's storied history, now with titles in 2010, 2012, 2018, 2022, 2024, and 2026—making them the undisputed powerhouse of South American women's youth football.
