The Denver Broncos have a knack for finding hidden gems after the draft, and undrafted wide receiver Kolbe Katsis might be the next diamond in the rough. This summer, he'll get a shot to impress—especially as a kick returner.

Standing 6-foot-1 and weighing 185 pounds, Katsis began his college career at Pittsburg State, where he earned MIAA Freshman of the Year honors in 2022. He then transferred to Northern Arizona University, quickly making a name for himself. By 2025, he was named an FCS Football Central second-team All-American and earned first-team All-Big Sky recognition at both receiver and kick returner. His stat line last fall? A standout 1,068 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns.

Over two seasons at NAU, Katsis racked up 95 receptions, 1,566 yards, and 12 touchdowns. But it's his return game that has the Broncos buzzing. According to the Denver Gazette's Chris Tomasson, special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi "really likes" Katsis as a returner—and for good reason.

Last season, Katsis returned 17 kickoffs for 521 yards and a touchdown, including a thrilling 100-yard return. At his pro day, he clocked a 40-yard dash in the 4.43-second range, showing the kind of speed that could make him a sleeper candidate for the returner role this summer.

With the Broncos looking to get wideout Marvin Mims more involved in the offense, someone else will need to step up on special teams. Katsis is a name to keep an eye on as training camp heats up.
