Friday was the 8th Annual Keep Pounding Day, which allowed the Carolina Panthers to spread across the Charlotte area and give back. More than 100 members of the Panthers organization, including players, coaches, staff, and front office workers, also spent the day honoring Sam Mills, No. 51. “Everyone has their own story of coming here, and this, becoming our community, that’s one of the things in the locker room we talk about all the time, is just how grateful we are to be in the Carolinas,” said quarterback Bryce Young.

Friday marked the 8th Annual Keep Pounding Day, and the Carolina Panthers took it to heart—spreading across Charlotte to give back in a big way. More than 100 members of the organization, from players and coaches to front office staff, hit the community to honor the legacy of Sam Mills and his iconic No. 51 jersey.

Quarterback Bryce Young was among those leading the charge, and he captured the spirit of the day perfectly. "Everyone has their own story of coming here, and this becoming our community," Young shared. "In the locker room, we talk all the time about how grateful we are to be in the Carolinas." At Roof Above, the team served meals, shared conversations, and built genuine connections. "Whenever we're able to interact and connect with people, we do everything we can to bring joy—because that's what they do for us," Young added.

Over at Habitat for Humanity on Wendover Road, the energy was just as electric. Team president Kristi Coleman, head coach Dave Canales, and his family joined dozens of players in building playhouses that will soon be donated to Thompson Child and Family Services. Canales loved seeing his team in a different light. "I love for people to see our guys in this environment," he said. "On Sunday, they're warriors on the field. But outside of that, these are guys who truly care about community, family, and friendship."

New Panthers linebacker Jaelan Phillips wasted no time diving into his new home. "Coach Canales always says, when you come into a new place, you've got to plant roots—so that's what I do," Phillips said. "Whether it was in Miami or Philly, and now here in Carolina, I'm making this my home."

This year's Keep Pounding Day also had a special full-circle moment. Just last year, Canales was part of the Habitat crew framing full-sized houses—and now, ten of those homes are nearly complete, set to welcome families in just two weeks. It's a powerful reminder that the Panthers' commitment to the Carolinas goes far beyond game day.
