Liverpool have reportedly cooled their interest in Chilean forward Dario Osorio, despite having monitored the 22-year-old since his teenage years. According to transfer insider Ben Jacobs, the Reds are no longer active suitors for the Midtjylland star, who was once seen as a potential long-term option for the club's attack.

The timing is significant. With Mohamed Salah's departure from Anfield now confirmed, Liverpool's new manager Arne Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes face a crucial summer window. Salah's exit leaves a massive void on the right flank—one that cannot be filled by a like-for-like replacement. The Egyptian's goal output, durability, and leadership across multiple trophy-winning campaigns made him one of the club's defining modern players.

Instead, Slot needs a forward who fits the next evolution of his system: pace, intelligent decision-making, pressing intensity, and consistent end product. Osorio, valued at around €20 million plus, might have appealed as a younger, lower-cost option, but Liverpool's recruitment focus has now shifted elsewhere.

Jacobs reports that Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, and Everton have all approached the Danish club and are currently the leading English sides in the race for Osorio. Midtjylland, despite extending his contract in January, are open to a sale—but only for bids exceeding €20 million. Arsenal also tracked Osorio in the past, but their priority remains a starting left-winger, not a right-sided option.

This summer carries extra weight because the 2026-27 season will be Liverpool's first without Salah. Names like Anthony Gordon, Bazoumana Toure, and Yan Diomande have been linked as the club searches for attacking variety and long-term upside. For now, though, the Osorio trail has gone cold on Merseyside.
