The race for Ohio high school baseball supremacy is heating up, and the latest state poll from the Ohio High School Baseball Coaches Association has delivered some major shakeups. Centerville has surged past Greater Western Ohio Conference rivals Springboro and Beavercreek, claiming the No. 3 spot in Division I. The Elks, now boasting a stellar 17-2 record, earned two first-place votes after sweeping Beavercreek on Monday—a win that also clinched the GWOC championship. With momentum on their side, Centerville faces a tough two-game set against Springboro (15-4) on Wednesday and Friday.
Beavercreek, meanwhile, turned heads by sweeping two-time defending league champs Springboro, propelling them to No. 4 and bumping the Panthers down to No. 5. It’s a sign of just how competitive this conference is, with every game carrying playoff implications.
Across Division II, Troy (17-1) holds steady at No. 3, keeping pressure on the top spots. In Division III, Butler (17-2), Kenton Ridge (17-3), and Badin (15-3) remain locked in at first, second, and third, respectively. But not everyone held their ground: Tippecanoe (16-5) took a steep fall, dropping nine spots to No. 17, while Bellbrook (17-2) slid four spots to No. 12. It’s a reminder that in high school baseball, consistency is key.
Lower divisions saw their own drama. Urbana (14-5) cracked the Division IV rankings, tying for 18th. Coldwater (16-1) climbed one spot to No. 2 in Division V, and Anna (13-3) made a big jump—up eight spots to No. 10. Versailles (15-6) dropped out, but Arcanum (16-2) enters the fray at No. 18. In Division VI, St. Henry (14-2) stays put at No. 3, while undefeated Mechanicsburg (16-0) rises one spot to No. 5. Division VII saw Fort Loramie (13-6) move up to No. 8, but Minster (10-6) slipped to No. 10 and Newton (13-3) fell to No. 15.
With the district tournament draw set for Sunday across all seven divisions, teams are gearing up for a postseason push. For fans and players alike, this is the time of year when every pitch counts—and these rankings show just how wide open the race is.
