As Barcelona gear up for a pivotal summer transfer window, the Catalan giants are once again facing the familiar challenge of balancing their books while strengthening the squad. The club has drawn up a list of players they're willing to part with to fund key signings, including a long-term successor for Robert Lewandowski and a top-class left-sided center-back. But as history shows, moving players on is easier said than done.

Barcelona's famed '1:1 rule' target—returning to salary cap compliance before June's end—is central to their summer plans. To hit that mark and make big-money moves, lucrative sales are essential. Director of Football Deco has reportedly identified two full-backs as prime candidates for departure, should the right offers come in.

Alejandro Balde leads the list. Once a regular starter, the young left-back has lost his place to Joao Cancelo in recent months, and Manchester United are rumored to be monitoring his situation. However, according to Diario AS, Balde himself is not keen on leaving Camp Nou just yet. Meanwhile, Jules Kounde is another player Deco would consider selling for a fee of €50 million or more. The club is leaving it to super-agent Jorge Mendes to orchestrate a move, but they won't force the French defender out the door.

Interestingly, recent reports from the Catalan press suggested Aston Villa were ready to pay €50m for Balde, but journalist Toni Juanmarti has since debunked that claim. He revealed that the story was actually planted by the club to generate interest—a sign that genuine offers for the 20-year-old have been scarce.

If Barcelona can't secure a significant sale from their non-essential players, they may be forced to consider offers for stars like Raphinha or Fermin Lopez. For now, the clock is ticking, and the Blaugrana's summer rebuild hangs in the balance.
