The Baltimore Ravens may have addressed several roster needs during the NFL Draft, but one glaring question remains unanswered: who will be snapping the ball to Lamar Jackson this season?

General manager Eric DeCosta didn't mince words after the draft, admitting the team is still "trying to figure" out their situation at center. When a GM speaks that candidly, it signals genuine concern—and Ravens fans have every reason to pay attention.

Currently, the depth chart lists Danny Pinter, Corey Bullock, Nick Dawkins, and Jovaughn Gwyn as options. But none of these names has stepped up as a clear starter. DeCosta acknowledged that the draft board simply didn't fall their way. The Ravens targeted several centers but came away empty-handed, leaving draft weekend without a definitive replacement.

This isn't just about filling a roster spot. The center position is the quarterback's right-hand man, especially for a dynamic playmaker like Lamar Jackson. Communication and protection are critical—Jackson thrives when the middle of the pocket feels secure, giving him time for full-field reads, improvisation, and adjustments at the line of scrimmage. A shaky center can disrupt the entire offensive rhythm.

Baltimore Beatdown recently described center as "the roster's sore spot" after breaking down post-draft depth charts, and it's hard to argue. Unlike other positions where surrounding talent can mask weaknesses, center issues show up on every single snap. The addition of Vega Ioane and other interior linemen should have brought more stability, but the center spot still feels unsettled.

Trade rumors are already circulating, with outside reports linking Baltimore to veteran options. It's a position where experience and trust matter as much as physical ability—especially for an offense that relies on flexibility and quick decision-making.

DeCosta has pointed out that there's still plenty of time before September, and that's true. But that's also why center now feels like the Ravens' next real move. The current roster can function with competition at the position. It just doesn't look complete yet.
