The Wisconsin Badgers have officially kicked off their transfer portal activity with a significant addition. According to 247Sports, the program has landed a commitment from George Washington guard Trey Autry.

Autry, a junior last season, brings a well-rounded offensive game to Madison. He averaged 11.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game, showcasing efficient shooting with a 43.5% mark from the field and a solid 38.5% from beyond the arc on over six attempts per game.

This move addresses a direct need for the Badgers, who were seeking wing depth following the departures of Nick Boyd, John Blackwell, and Andrew Rohde. Autry's proven three-point shooting immediately fills a critical hole in the lineup.

Beyond his offensive skills, Autry—the son of former Syracuse head coach Adrian Autry—is also expected to bolster the team's defense. Improving on that end of the floor is a priority for Wisconsin after a 2025 season where their defensive performance fell short of expectations.

While the Badgers still have considerable work ahead in the portal, with five roster spots remaining for the 2026-27 season, securing Trey Autry is a foundational step. This first commitment signals the beginning of their crucial offseason rebuild.
