Many believed Dayne Kingshott had done enough to earn a Sprint Car ride in the United States after a statement-making run at December’s High Limit International at Perth Motorplex — three straight podium finishes, including a runner-up to Kyle Larson in the finale. Now, he’s getting it with Lunstra Motorsports.

The Brandon, S.D., team owned by Dave Lunstra announced Sunday that the Bunbury, Western Australia, native will pilot the team’s No. 3 entry for the 2026 season, bringing one of Australia’s most accomplished résumés in recent years stateside. When he'll debut for the Lunstra team is TBA.

Kingshott is a three-time — and reigning — Maddington Toyota Sprintcar Series champion, most recently putting together a title-winning campaign that included six feature victories across four racetracks.

“We’re excited to welcome Dayne to our program,” Lunstra Motorsports said in a press release. “His experience and success in Australia make him a strong addition as we look ahead to the upcoming season.”

Kingshott takes over the Lunstra ride previously occupied by Tim Kaeding, whose decade-long run with the team comes to a close. The Lunstra team called Kaeding "an integral part of Lunstra Motorsports both on and off the track" and that "his impact on the organization will not be forgotten."

“Tim is like family to us,” the team added. “We can’t thank him enough for his effort, dedication, and the many great memories we’ve shared.”
