Arsenal's loanee Jakub Kiwior has officially made his move to FC Porto permanent, with the Portuguese giants activating their purchase option in a deal that could be worth up to €24m (£20.5m) for the Gunners.
The Polish defender, who spent the 2025/26 season on loan at Porto, has signed a long-term contract that will keep him at the Estádio do Dragão until 2030. Porto confirmed they've exercised their option to buy, securing 100% of Kiwior's sporting registration rights.
Here's how the numbers break down: Porto will pay a fixed fee of €17m, with an additional €5m in potential add-ons. Arsenal also negotiated a €2m sell-on clause, meaning they'll receive that amount if Porto ever sells Kiwior - regardless of the transfer fee.
When you factor in the €2m loan fee Arsenal received last summer, the total value of this deal could reach €26m (£22.5m). That's a solid return for the Gunners, who originally signed Kiwior from Spezia for €20m (£17.6m) back in January 2023.
Porto have included a €70m release clause in Kiwior's new contract, though that's standard practice in Portuguese football. These clauses are typically set high to discourage clubs from bypassing negotiations - so don't expect anyone to trigger that price tag anytime soon.
Kiwior's move comes on the back of a successful season with Porto, where he helped the club secure the Liga Portugal title. That championship win likely prompted the club to kickstart their summer transfer business early, with Kiwior's permanent signing being a priority.
The 25-year-old made 68 appearances for Arsenal across two-and-a-half seasons, winning the Community Shield during his time in north London. He's since added 38 appearances for Porto to his tally, proving his worth in Portuguese football.
With two league games remaining before the summer break, Porto are already in party mode after wrapping up the title early. For Kiwior, it's the perfect way to begin his permanent chapter with the club.
