All signs are pointing toward Manchester City as the likely destination for England international Elliot Anderson this summer. The Nottingham Forest midfielder has emerged as City's top midfield target, and new reports suggest even their rivals expect him to land at the Etihad.

According to Sky Sports' Lyall Thomas and Adrian Kajumba, City are in pole position to secure the 22-year-old's signature. Now, a fresh report from the Daily Mail's Nathan Salt and Chris Wheeler adds fuel to the fire, revealing that Manchester United—who also have Anderson as their primary midfield target—believe it would take over £100 million to pry him away from Forest. More tellingly, United sources reportedly consider it "likely" that Anderson will choose City this summer.

At this point, it would be a major surprise if Anderson doesn't end up in sky blue. While the £100 million-plus price tag might raise eyebrows, City's need for a midfielder of his caliber was glaringly obvious in their dramatic 3-3 draw with Everton at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday night.

City's midfield struggled to cope with Everton's physicality, particularly in the second half, where they were repeatedly overpowered in duels. Anderson, by contrast, is Premier League-proven and built for exactly these battles. He's shown time and again for both Nottingham Forest and England that he won't be pushed around—winning duels is where he truly excels.

But Anderson isn't just a bruiser. He's exceptional technically, with the ability to progress play through precise passing or driving dribbles. That combination of physical presence and technical quality is exactly what City's midfield needs. Against Everton, a player like Anderson could have made all the difference in those chaotic second-half moments. All roads, it seems, lead to Manchester for Elliot Anderson.
