According to On3's Joe Tipton, the Alabama Crimson Tide have reportedly landed a significant commitment via the NCAA transfer portal.
That commitment comes from Drew Fielder, a transfer from Boise State. One of the top uncommitted players in the transfer portal, Fielder announced a commitment to Alabama on Monday afternoon, per Tipton.
Fielder comes to Tuscaloosa following a breakout 2025-26 season at Boise State where he started 30-of-32 games to average 14.7 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game on 54.7% shooting from the field, a percentage that led the Mountain West. The Boise State transfer was also a Second Team All-MWC selection who shot 40.9% from three, as well as 78.5% at the free throw line.
Prior to Boise State, Fielder originally began his collegiate career at Georgetown where he spent two seasons. Over those two years, Fielder averaged a combined 6.1 points and 4.2 rebounds per game on 47.2% shooting.
Listed at 6-foot-11, Fielder is currently ranked as the No. 53 overall player in the transfer portal, as well as the No. 9 center, per 247Sports. Coming out of high school, Fielder ranked as the No. 19 overall center in the 2023 class, per the 247Sports Composite rankings.
Fielder is now Alabama's fourth transfer portal addition this offseason, as well as the third in the frontcourt along with Kentucky's Brandon Garrison and Mississippi State's Jamarion Davis-Fleming. Alabama has also landed NC State's Cole Cloer on the wing.
