The Aaron Rodgers waiting game continues and for now, Will Howard appears to be the Pittsburgh Steelers' starting quarterback.

"The #Steelers have not received word from Aaron Rodgers on his future and there is no expectation of a final decision prior to the NFL Draft, per me and @TomPelissero," NFL Network National Insider Ian Rapoport posted on X Monday morning. "When minicamp begins today under new coach Mike McCarthy, Will Howard will be QB1."

The 2026 NFL Draft runs from Thursday to Saturday in Pittsburgh.

Monday's update comes after Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen recently said that he didn't know if Rodgers would be returning for the 2026 season and gave it a "50-50" chance

Rodgers finished the 2025 campaign with a 65.7 completion percentage, 3,322 passing yards, 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions and will turn 43 years old in December.

The Steelers selected Howard in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but he didn't appear in any regular season games last year.
