The Tennessee high school football scene is heating up, and one of the biggest offseason moves just landed in Nashville. 2028 quarterback Myles Teague has announced he's transferring from Murfreesboro Blackman to Lipscomb Academy, a program that's making serious noise under the return of head coach Trent Dilfer.

Teague, who saw limited action behind center for the Blaze in 2025, took to social media to share the news: "I will be joining Lipscomb Academy starting this summer!!" The move signals a new chapter for the young signal-caller, who will be battling for the starting role when the 2026 season kicks off.

During his time at Blackman, Teague showed flashes of potential. According to MaxPreps, he completed 13 of 29 passes for 251 yards and a touchdown across three games last season. He'll now compete with fellow 2028 QB prospect Woody Corey, who transferred to Lipscomb from Noblesville (Ind.) earlier this offseason.

Lipscomb Academy is looking to bounce back after a tough 3-8 season in 2025, which landed them at No. 31 in the final Tennessee High School Football Massey Rankings. But with Dilfer back at the helm—a former NFL quarterback and Super Bowl champion—expectations are soaring for the Mustangs. The program has a rich tradition of developing talent, and Teague could be the next big name to step under center.

Located in the heart of Nashville, Lipscomb Academy is known for blending top-tier academics with competitive athletics. The school offers a wide range of AP and honors courses, while its sports teams consistently chase regional and state recognition. For a quarterback like Teague, it's an ideal environment to grow both on and off the field.

As Tennessee high school football fans gear up for the 2026 season, all eyes will be on this quarterback battle. Whether you're tracking scores statewide or just love the drama of a good transfer story, this one has all the makings of a must-watch storyline.
