In a move that's sending ripples through Oklahoma high school football, four-star Class of 2028 phenom Kamieon Compton-Nero is taking his talents across town. After leading Rejoice Christian School to back-to-back state championships, the dynamic athlete has announced his transfer to Owasso High School—a program already sitting at No. 3 in the state.
"My journey is different and each chapter of my story has been for a purpose," Compton-Nero shared in a statement. "My 5 years at Rejoice Christian have shaped who I'm becoming. I'm forever grateful for the teachers and coaches who supported my growth. Competing for two state championships on the hardwood and capturing back-to-back titles on the football field are memories I'll carry with my teammates for life."
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete isn't just making a change—he's coming with a mission. "My next chapter wasn't planned, but it's God's plan for what's next. I'm finishing my high school career at Owasso with the same goals: develop and collect rings."
And collect he does. Compton-Nero's 2025 season was nothing short of spectacular. On offense, he racked up 3,335 all-purpose yards and 49 touchdowns, primarily from the quarterback position. Defensively, the four-star standout added 95 tackles, five interceptions, and three defensive scores—proving he's a game-changer on both sides of the ball.
Owasso, which finished 10-3 last season, is getting a player who thrives under pressure and knows what it takes to win championships. With state-of-the-art facilities and a coaching staff dedicated to developing student-athletes, the Rams are poised to make another deep run with their newest weapon.
For fans of high school football and the next generation of gridiron stars, this is a transfer worth watching. Compton-Nero isn't just changing jerseys—he's writing the next chapter of an already impressive story.
