The Buffalo Bills remained active, trading into the second round to make an additional pick at the 2026 NFL Draft to select Ohio State cornerback Davison Igbinosun.

Igbinosun is an aggressive cornerback who thrives in man coverage. His long frame makes it challenging for wide receivers to get a clear release against him in press coverage. In addition, Igbinosun matches up well with taller wide receivers, creating problems in contested-catch scenarios.

Igbinosun is a reliable player, starting 53 games during his college tenure. He earned second-team All-Big Ten honors last year. Igbinosun recorded 19 passes defensed over the past two seasons. In addition, the Buckeye recorded two interceptions in each of his final two years at Ohio State.

However, his aggressiveness was problematic, as refs flagged Igbinosun 18 times over the past two years.

If receivers beat Igbinosun when he presses, the Ohio State product is inconsistent in recovering in coverage. Igbinosun has some technique issues, looking a little rigid and lacking fluidity at times against top receivers. His footwork will need to take a major step forward if Igbinosun is to gain starting snaps in the near future.

Igbinosun gives Buffalo depth in its secondary. He fits the defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard's philosophy well with his aggression. His size is an asset for the pro game.

Nevertheless, there's a bit of technique work that needs to be cleaned up if Igbinosun is to see substantial time next season. At this point, he slots in as a reserve cornerback sitting behind Christian Benford and Max Hairston. Buffalo still has questions at several other positions on the roster, so selecting a depth player in the second round seems like a questionable value choice by general manager Brandon Beane.
