Kentucky Basketball has made a surprise addition to the roster, landing a commitment from Zyon Hawthorne, the brother of Braydon Hawthorne, who just announced his return on Tuesday.
The news of Zyon’s commitment came about an hour after Braydon made his announcement, as the two brothers are now slated to suit up together in Lexington.
The 6-foot-2 combo guard is a West Virginia native who played at Huntington Prep this past season and currently does not have an evaluation at any recruiting website. He reportedly held scholarship offers from Wichita State, Arkansas State, Radford, La Salle, and Bethune-Cookman, according to KSR’s Jack Pilgrim.
This is likely one of those back-end roster spots that were previously for walk-ons but now count toward the total 15-man roster limit. Kentucky now has nine players confirmed for next season.
