Inter Milan Vice President Javier Zanetti has confirmed that Como starlet Nico Paz is "surely" heading back to Real Madrid at the end of the season—but not without a glowing endorsement that has fans buzzing.
Speaking at an event on Tuesday (via Sport Mediaset), Zanetti didn't hold back his admiration for the 21-year-old Argentine. "I admire him, and his father is a great friend of mine," he said. "He would fit well in any top side, but signing him is complicated. Surely, he'll return to Real Madrid."
Paz joined Como on a permanent deal in the summer of 2024, but Real Madrid wisely included a buy-back option valid until 2027. And with Zanetti's comments, it looks like Los Blancos are ready to pull the trigger.
The young playmaker has been a revelation under Cesc Fabregas at Como this season, racking up an impressive 13 goals and eight assists in 39 appearances across all competitions. His performances have caught the eye of top clubs, including Inter, who reportedly remain interested despite the anticipated return to the Bernabéu.
However, Paz's future with Real Madrid may hinge on the incoming coach's plans. Recent reports from Corriere dello Sport and other Italian outlets suggest that while Inter are keen, the final decision rests with Madrid's new boss.
For now, fans can only watch as one of Serie A's brightest young talents prepares for a potential homecoming. Whether he stays in Madrid or makes another move, one thing is clear: Nico Paz is a name you'll want on your radar—and maybe on your jersey.
