The summer transfer window is already making waves in League Two, as Cheltenham Town undergoes a significant squad overhaul. The Robins have confirmed that nine players are departing the club, including midfield engine Luke Young, dynamic winger Jordan Thomas, and versatile defender Arkell Jude-Boyd.

Young, the former Wrexham captain who joined Cheltenham in 2024, has been a rock in the midfield with 89 appearances over two seasons—remarkably playing in all but one league game this term. Meanwhile, Thomas has been a bright spark, netting eight goals in 43 matches this season and surpassing the century mark for total appearances in his two-and-a-half-year stint. Jude-Boyd, at 23, has also been a consistent presence, making 42 appearances across all competitions.

Joining them out the door are defenders George Harmon and Cameron Walters, midfielders Scot Bennett and Tommy Backwell, and forwards Josh Martin and Tom King. All have been released following the conclusion of the season, marking a clear shift in direction for the club, which finished 18th in the League Two table.

But it's not all goodbyes at Whaddon Road. Cheltenham have triggered contract options to retain defenders Robbie Cundy, George Nurse, Jonathan Tomkinson, and James Wilson for the upcoming season. More importantly, midfielder Ben Stevenson has signed a new deal that will keep him in Robins colors through the 2026-27 campaign—a major vote of confidence in his leadership and consistency.

The club has also extended contract offers to Ryan Broom, George Miller, Harry Tustin, and Freddy Willcox, signaling that while the roster is being reshaped, there's a core group the club is building around. As Cheltenham look to climb the League Two standings next season, these moves suggest a strategic blend of experience and emerging talent—exactly the kind of roster refresh that could make for an exciting campaign ahead.
