The Yankees' minor league system saw a day of rest for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, but the Florida Complex League squad delivered a statement win on May 11th, crushing the FCL Tigers 8-1 in a game that was over almost as soon as it began.

The action started early, with DH Justin Capellan clearing the bases on a triple in the first inning to set a dominant tone. That was just the appetizer. In the second inning, second baseman Leni Done stepped to the plate with the bases loaded and launched a grand slam, blowing the game wide open at 7-0. Done finished 2-for-3 with four RBIs, two runs, and a walk—a performance that will have Yankees fans keeping an eye on his development.

First baseman Luis Puello added a solo home run in the sixth inning, one of just three hits the team managed after Done's slam, but by then the damage was done. Third baseman Richard Matic also had a strong day at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

On the mound, starter Thatcher Hurd was nearly untouchable, tossing 3.2 innings of scoreless ball while allowing just one hit—a single that was quickly erased by a double play. He walked two and struck out four, lowering his season ERA to a microscopic level. The bullpen had a hiccup when Enixon Sanchez was injured during warmups and had to be replaced immediately, but Rafael Arias stepped in admirably, allowing just one run on one hit over 3.1 innings. Marco Manzano closed things out with two perfect innings, striking out three.

For a Yankees system that's always looking for the next breakout star, performances like this from Leni Done and a dominant pitching staff are exactly what fans love to see. Keep an eye on these names as they climb the ladder.
