The New York Yankees are navigating a critical stretch of the season, and their injury report is keeping fans on edge. As the Bombers face off against the Texas Rangers in a three-game series at Yankee Stadium this week, the spotlight has shifted to the health of key players—and the news isn't all encouraging.

Giancarlo Stanton, the slugging designated hitter who has battled injuries throughout his career, is facing another frustrating setback. After leaving a game in Houston two Fridays ago with a calf injury—sustained simply while jogging from first to second base on a walk—Stanton hoped to avoid the 10-day injured list. When that wasn't possible, he aimed for a quick return. But Wednesday marked day 12, and the 36-year-old still hasn't resumed even light running. "I don't know when the plan for him would be (to run)," manager Aaron Boone said after the Yankees' five-game winning streak ended with a 6-1 loss to Nathan Eovaldi and the Rangers. Given Stanton's history of leg muscle injuries and his age, patience seems wise. "If it's not ready, it's not ready, so we'll wait," Boone added. Stanton, a five-time All-Star, had a hot start to the season—hitting .256 with three homers and 14 RBIs in his first 26 games—but his production dipped significantly after that. A mid-May return is the best-case scenario, but that timeline could easily slip.

Meanwhile, left-hander Carlos Rodon is closing in on his season debut after a longer-than-expected recovery from offseason elbow surgery. Following three rehab starts, including a rough outing with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Rodon is on track to pitch on regular rest. The Yankees are carefully managing his workload, knowing his return could provide a much-needed boost to the rotation.

As for ace Gerrit Cole, the plans remain clear: the Yankees are taking a measured approach with their star pitcher, ensuring he's fully healthy before ramping up. With the team fighting for early-season momentum, every decision counts—and fans will be watching closely to see how these injury updates shape the lineup in the weeks ahead.
