The inaugural season of the WTGL is shaping up to be a major event in women's golf, with the league announcing six additional LPGA stars joining its roster. The new commitments bring the total to 14 players, including five of the top 10 in the world, as the league prepares to launch later this year at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens.
The latest additions are a who's who of talent: Celine Boutier, a six-time LPGA Tour winner and major champion; Andrea Lee, ranked No. 24 in the world with an LPGA victory; Minjee Lee, the No. 7 player globally and a three-time major champion; Danielle Kang, a six-time LPGA Tour winner and major champion; Megan Khang, an LPGA winner and four-time Solheim Cup team member; and Albane Valenzuela, a three-time Olympian. Together, they represent eight countries, boast 92 LPGA Tour victories, and have won 12 major championships.
"WTGL continues to build momentum as a global platform for LPGA stars and women's team golf," said Pete Jung, Chief Marketing Officer of TMRW Sports, the organization behind the league. "With today's brand reveal and 14 LPGA Tour players now committed — including major champions, Olympians, and Solheim Cup players from around the world — this milestone underscores the excitement we're seeing from players, team ownership groups, and potential partners."
The WTGL also unveiled its official logo on May 4 during a reception at the LPGA Tour's Mizuho Americas Open, adding a visual identity to the growing league. The league is a sister property to the TGL, the tech-infused indoor golf league co-founded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, and was created in partnership with the Ladies Professional Golf Association.
Ownership groups are already making their mark. Arthur M. Blank and AMB Sports and Entertainment, along with Alexis Ohanian's Los Angeles Golf Club, were announced as the first two ownership groups. Interestingly, Blank's Atlanta Drive and Ohanian's LA Golf Club have won the first two TGL seasons, respectively, setting a high bar for WTGL's competitive future.
For fans and players alike, the WTGL is quickly becoming a must-watch addition to the golf calendar. As the league continues to build its roster, the excitement is palpable — and the gear is sure to follow.
