Sometimes the best stories in football are about second chances—and wide receiver Michael Woods is living proof of that. After a weekend tryout that turned heads, Woods has officially earned himself a spot on the Denver Broncos' 90-man roster, as reported by Tom Pelissero of NFL Media.
The journey hasn't been easy for the former sixth-round pick of the Cleveland Browns (2022). Woods showed promise as a rookie, appearing in 10 games, but then came a devastating torn Achilles that sidelined him for the entire 2023 season. He battled back to play five games in 2024, finishing his Browns tenure with 12 catches for 110 yards before being released and spending time on the Green Bay Packers' practice squad.
Now, Woods gets a fresh start in the Mile High City, joining a veteran-laden receiver room that includes Courtland Sutton, Jaylen Waddle, Marvin Mims, Troy Franklin, Pat Bryant, and Lil'Jordan Humphrey. For a player who knows the value of perseverance, this opportunity is about more than just making the roster—it's about proving that hard work and resilience can still pay off in the NFL.
