Time and time again, longtime Wisconsin Badgers women's hockey coach Mark Johnson continues to outdo himself.

When it comes to building a dynasty in women's college hockey, Wisconsin Badgers head coach Mark Johnson keeps raising the bar. Already riding high with back-to-back National Championships, Johnson has proven time and again that his recruiting game is just as elite as his coaching.

In a major recruiting win, news broke on Friday, May 8, that Megan Mossey—originally committed to rival Minnesota—has flipped her commitment to the Badgers. "On, Wisconsin!" she announced. "Honoured and excited to be a Badger!"

Mossey, a standout two-way defender, is projected to join the team in the 2027-28 season, according to recruiting analyst Kendrick Stumbris. While this move won't reshape the roster overnight, it's yet another testament to Johnson's ability to attract top-tier talent from even the fiercest competitors.

Mossey's recent performance speaks volumes. At the 2026 U18 World Championships, she tallied an impressive 11 points in just six games, including nine assists and two goals, while posting a stellar +14 rating. Her 2025-26 season with the Etobicoke Dolphins was equally remarkable, as she set career highs in games played (46), total points (69), assists (33), and goals (36)—shattering her previous bests across the board.

For Badgers fans, this commitment is a glimpse into a bright future. With Johnson at the helm and players like Mossey on the way, Wisconsin's dominance in women's hockey shows no signs of slowing down.
