Wisconsin basketball transfer guard John Blackwell is visiting Duke on Monday, according to On3's Joe Tipton.
Blackwell's recruitment was recently reported to be down to six schools: Alabama, Arizona, Duke, Illinois, Louisville and UCLA. The former Badger already visited UCLA, plus is reportedly set to visit Louisville later this week. Duke, UCLA and Louisville may be emerging as the favorites for the top transfer prospect, especially with Illinois wing Andrej Stojakovic recently announcing his return.
247Sports currently lists Blackwell as a five-star transfer prospect. He's specifically ranked as the No. 3 overall player in the portal and No. 1 shooting guard.
Blackwell is currently visiting a Duke program that reached its third consecutive Elite Eight in 2025-26. The program, led by fourth-year head coach Jon Scheyer, is still looking for its first national title since 2015.
Wisconsin fans should continue to keep tabs on Blackwell's recruitment. The top guard choosing the Blue Devils may become a best-case scenario for the Badgers, as they would avoid facing him during the Big Ten schedule.
