For decades, the Wisconsin Badgers have built their identity on dominant offensive line play and a punishing run game. That tradition of winning in the trenches is about to get a major test.
In just a few days, the Badgers will learn if they've secured another key piece for their 2027 recruiting class. Four-star offensive tackle Cameron Wagner is set to announce his commitment on Monday, May 11, live on the Pat McAfee Show, per On3's Hayes Fawcett.
Wagner, a massive 6-foot-6, 300-pound tackle from St. Joseph, Illinois, has narrowed his choices to Wisconsin, Illinois, Notre Dame, and Oregon. While Badgers fans will be hoping for good news, a 247Sports expert prediction currently favors Oregon—but in recruiting, anything can happen until the final decision.
Ranked as the No. 36 offensive tackle in the 2027 class by 247Sports, Wagner would be a significant addition to a Wisconsin program that already has four offensive line commits among its 12 total pledges. Those include offensive tackles Cole Reiter and Ethan McIntosh, plus interior linemen Hunter and Reece Mallinger.
With the Badgers' commitment to running the football, every win in the trenches matters—and this one could set the tone for the rest of the cycle.
