Three days removed from landing four-star class of 2027 quarterback Jack Sorgi, Wisconsin Badgers football added another piece to its 2027 cohort on Monday, April 27.

Despite receiving offers from Penn State, Syracuse, North Carolina, Pittsburgh, West Virginia, Duke, Boston College, Temple, Charlotte and Old Dominion, three-star athlete/safety DJ Davis became the tenth player to join UW's class of 2027 this morning.

247Sports considers the Middletown, Delaware, product the No. 723 overall recruit, No. 58 athlete, and No. 3 player from Delaware for the class of 2027. While he's listed as an athlete, Davis has suited up at safety while at Middletown High School. He joins three-star Dustin Roach as the only commits of UW's '27 defensive backfield.

Davis received his offer on May 20, 2025, and is scheduled to officially visit Wisconsin the weekend of June 5, per 247Sports.

On3/Rivals now considers UW's class of 2027 the seventh-best in the Big Ten, up from ninth. With five commitments in April alone, that number could continue to swell in the coming months.

With the commitment, head coach Luke Fickell and his recruiting staff continue to build a strong class ahead of the summer window. Considering Wisconsin's subpar recruiting finish in 2026, the recent string of additions serves as a comforting sign for Badger fans.
