The Arizona Cardinals' 2026 offseason has been nothing short of a nightmare—and now the Sportsbooks have delivered the harshest verdict yet. After being the last team picked in the coaching search, sitting out free agency, and turning heads with a polarizing NFL draft, the Cardinals are projected to be underdogs in every single game next season, including their extra home matchup.

To put this in perspective, the spread for the first 11 games is a touchdown or more in favor of their opponents. That means even if the Cardinals started every game up by seven points, the oddsmakers would still bet against them. Only two NFL teams have ever finished winless in a 16-game season: the 2008 Detroit Lions and the 2017 Cleveland Browns. For Arizona, a 0-17 record would be historic—and not in a good way.

The schedule doesn't do them any favors. Seven of their first 11 games are on the road, and their bye week doesn't arrive until Week 14. They'll face playoff-caliber teams like the Seattle Seahawks, Denver Broncos, Los Angeles Rams, and Los Angeles Chargers early on, along with fringe contenders such as the Detroit Lions, San Francisco 49ers, and Kansas City Chiefs. A trap game for a superior opponent could still lead to an upset, but the odds are stacked high.

Still, this roster isn't without talent. All-Pro tight end Trey McBride, top-drafted running back Jeremiyah Love, and a deep wide receiver corps give head coach Mike LaFleur's offense real potential. After being hit hard by injuries in 2025, the defense should also see improvement. Going winless in today's NFL would be a historic low—and likely the final chapter for owner Michael Bidwill and general manager Monti Ossenfort if it comes to pass.
