The FA Cup final is supposed to be a showcase of English football's finest, and on Saturday, Chelsea and Manchester City delivered a showdown at Wembley that had fans on the edge of their seats—or at least, that's what we were hoping for.

The first half, however, was a bit of a snooze-fest. With both Premier League heavyweights struggling to find any rhythm, the action on the pitch was as scarce as a sunny day in Manchester. Just two shots on target—both from City—were all we had to show for 45 minutes of play.

But if you thought that was the most telling stat, think again. Erling Haaland, the Norwegian goal machine who's been terrorizing defenses all season, put up a number that perfectly sums up the lack of excitement. The striker, who has never scored at Wembley, finished the first half with as many clearances as touches in the opponent's box. Yes, you read that right—the man who's bagged goals for fun was spending more time defending than attacking.

For fans of either side—or even the neutrals hoping for a classic—this stat is a brutal reminder that sometimes, even the biggest stages can fall flat. Let's hope the second half brings the fireworks we were all waiting for.
