The Los Angeles Angels are dealing with more than just struggles on the field, and this time, it is happening inside their own stadium.
Fans attending games recently noticed something unusual in one section of Angel Stadium, leading to questions about what exactly was going on behind the scenes.
Now, details have emerged explaining why a part of the ballpark was suddenly shut down.
According to a New York Post report, the issue goes beyond routine maintenance.
“The Los Angeles Angels’ record isn’t the only thing off to a disgusting start this season, as health officials claimed they found evidence of a rodent infestation in a section of the team’s stadium,” the NY Post reported.
The discovery prompted immediate action, with officials stepping in to ensure that the affected area was no longer accessible to the public.
For a venue that hosts thousands of fans each game, even a localized issue like this quickly becomes a major concern.
The specifics of the situation were outlined in an official inspection.
“An Orange County Public Health Services Retail Food Facility Inspection Report, obtained by the California Post on Monday, shows that on April 22, a concession area at View Level 432 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim was closed following the discovery of ‘rodent droppings,’” the NY Post added.
The finding explains why that section of the stadium was closed off, as health regulations require immediate action when contamination risks are identified in food service areas.
Such closures typically remain in place until the issue is fully addressed, including cleaning, inspection, clearance, and preventive measures to ensure it does not happen again.
While the problem appears limited to a specific section, it still raises broader concerns about stadium maintenance and fan safety.
For now, the focus will be on resolving the issue quickly, but it has already added an unwanted storyline to the Angels’ season.
