Racing Bulls' rookie driver Arvid Lindblad had a Miami GP Sprint Race to forget, as a team error and a subsequent technical issue left him unable to even start the race. Despite qualifying in P15 for the sprint, Lindblad was forced to start from the pitlane after his team reportedly failed to cover his VCARB03 car following the sprint qualifying session—a clear breach of FIA regulations.

The FIA's ruling was swift and decisive: "Not covering the car after a Sprint Qualifying session is a breach of Article B3.4.2 a). Therefore, car 41 should now be required to start the Sprint from the pit lane according to Article B3.5.3 b) of the 2026 Formula 1 Sporting Regulations." But the drama didn't end there. As Lindblad prepared to roll out from the pits, a reported technical issue struck, resulting in a Did Not Start (DNS) for the young driver.

To make matters worse, Racing Bulls also broke curfew the night before the sprint. However, the FIA showed some leniency, noting that this was the team's first infraction of the season and that they are allowed four exemptions. "This was the first of the four individual exceptions permitted for the VISA Cash App Racing Bulls Formula One Team during the 2026 Formula One Championship season, and therefore no action should be taken," the FIA stated.

For Lindblad, it's a tough lesson in the unforgiving world of Formula 1. While the team's oversight cost him a shot at the sprint race, the rookie will be hoping for a cleaner run in the main Grand Prix. In the high-stakes world of F1, every detail matters—from car setup to curfew compliance—and this weekend's mishaps serve as a stark reminder that even the smallest slip can lead to a big missed opportunity.
