The Cleveland Browns came into the 2026 NFL Draft with two picks in Round 1, and with their first selection, they traded down from No. 6 to No. 9 with the Kansas City Chiefs, picking up Spencer Fano at the ninth selection.
Then, down the board, the Browns at No. 24 overall, according to the NFL insider Jordan Schultz, the Browns are selecting Texas A&M receiver KC Concepcion.
Why did the Browns draft Concepcion with the No. 24 overall pick? The reason is simple: Cleveland desperately needed WR help.

The Browns used the pick they got from the Travis Hunter trade with the Jacksonville Jaguars a year ago to draft a top wide receiver. The reason why the Browns made this pick is incredibly simple: they need WR help.
Concepcion joins a wide receiver room that is in dire need of WR help. Jerry Jeudy, Cedric Tillman, and Isaiah Bond were not a good enough WR room.
But now, Concepcion joins the offense and will be a versatile weapon for Sanders and new head coach Todd Monken.

This past season for the Aggies, Concepcion caught 61 passes for 919 yards and nine touchdowns. He's elite after the catch, and also can be used in the running game, as seen with his 10 attempts for 75 yards and one touchdown last year.
He's also great in the punt return game, returning 26 punts for 456 yards and two touchdowns. Concepcion won't just help the offense; he'll help the special teams as well.
The Browns made this pick because of their major need for WR help, and Concepcion was the best WR left on the board with a first-round grade.
