Brebeuf Jesuit senior linebacker Parker Maiers has made a significant late-stage decision in his football recruiting journey, flipping his commitment from Dartmouth College to Northwestern University. The shift came after a roster spot opened up with the Wildcats following the closure of the transfer portal, presenting Maiers with a coveted preferred walk-on opportunity at the Big Ten program.

For Maiers, a standout defensive force and one of Indiana's top linebackers, the appeal was multifaceted. "It’s a closer school to home … Big Ten, obviously, one of the best conferences you can play in and still wonderful academics," Maiers explained. "Just was a great fit for my family and I." The chance to compete in the premier Power Five conference while maintaining elite academic standards proved irresistible.

The move aligns perfectly with Maiers' established playing style. A true tackling machine, he posted a career-high 152 tackles as a sophomore and has been a disruptive leader on defense ever since.
