The second round of the 2026 Masters is in the books and the 36-hole cut has been made. See the notable names who were sent packing Friday.

The 2026 Masters has reached its halfway point, and the unforgiving cut line at Augusta National has claimed its share of high-profile victims. After a firm and fast second round, the field of 91 has been trimmed to 54 players, with only those at 4-over par or better surviving to play the weekend.

Among the notable names heading home early is J.J. Spaun. Fresh off his victory at the Valero Texas Open, the 2025 U.S. Open champion couldn't find his rhythm at Augusta, posting rounds of 74-75 to miss the cut by a single stroke. A late rally with two birdies in his final three holes on Friday wasn't enough to overcome earlier mistakes, marking his first missed cut here in three appearances.

The weekend will also proceed without two-time champion Bubba Watson. Struggling to offset 11 bogeys with enough red numbers, Watson's fate was sealed on the 18th hole Friday. A bunkered approach and a missed par save left him one shot outside the cut line, continuing a difficult recent trend at Augusta since his move to LIV Golf.

Danny Willett, the 2016 champion, saw his hopes dashed by a single disastrous hole. A quadruple-bogey 9 on the 15th hole during his first round proved too much to overcome. Despite a valiant, bogey-free 33 on his second nine Friday, he fell one stroke short of extending his tournament.

Perhaps the most dramatic exit belonged to Bryson DeChambeau. Needing a simple bogey or better on the 18th hole Friday to advance, he found the greenside bunker. What followed was a stunning collapse, as it took him two shots to escape the sand, leading to a costly double-bogey that sent him packing in heartbreaking fashion.
