The 2026 NFL Draft will take place in Pittsburgh this week, in a city where the Vikings could select the next star they add to their roster in hopes of righting the proverbial ship. In the final days and moments ahead of the selections starting on Thursday, there is still plenty of mock drafts to sort through.
ESPN's Jordan Reid recently released the latest 2026 NFL mock draft of the cycle, which has the team going in the offensive direction as they look for that spark in 2026. He has them selecting Oregon tight end, Kenyon Sadiq, who has become a popular name attached based on last-minute rumblings.
Reid explains the Sadiq pick, writing, "Tight end isn't the Vikings' biggest need -- those would be safety and defensive tackle -- but Thieneman is off the board as a possible Harrison Smith replacement and there isn't a defensive tackle worth taking at this point of the draft. Sadiq is a speedy (4.39 seconds in the 40-yard dash) receiving tight end whom Minnesota could use in multiple ways in its offense."
Sadiq would be an interesting choice, and it would allow for Kevin O'Connell and Wes Phillips to get a bit more creative on offense. He can be in-line or used in the slot, both positions the team needs a spark from.
